What to compare
The quality of the Swedish language. You want to know how well the voice agent speaks and understands the language. You hear this in a test call.
Question to ask: Can we call in and test your solution in Swedish?
Response time for incoming calls. A delay on the line makes the conversation feel unnatural. You need to know how long it takes before the voice answers on a Swedish line.
Question to ask: What response time does your voice agent have if we call from a Swedish number?
Pricing model and contract length. The cost can vary depending on how the service is packaged. You want to understand what the fixed fee is, what it costs to start, and if you pay per minute or per call.
Question to ask: What does your pricing model look like regarding setup, contract length, variable fees and fixed fees?
Ability to connect systems. The agent is useful when it can look up and record details where you already work. You want to know which systems the agent can be connected to and who makes the connection.
Question to ask: How does it work when we want to connect the voice agent to our own business systems?
Handover to human staff. Sometimes an employee must take over a complicated call. When this happens, you want the caller to avoid repeating themselves from the beginning.
Question to ask: Do you send along a summary of the issue when a colleague takes over the call?
The location for data processing. You want to know in which country or region the data is processed and stored.
Question to ask: Where in the world is the data you collect during calls processed and stored?
Existing switchboard and numbers. If you want to keep the switchboard and the phone numbers you have, you want to know if the voice agent can be added without you changing your telephony provider.
Question to ask: Can we use your service together with the switchboard and the phone numbers we already have?
How to compare for yourselves
A practical way to evaluate a voice agent is to call and talk to it. You can call the providers with exactly the same questions. You should then explain your issue in your own words instead of choosing words you think the agent will understand.
Also try asking the voice agent if you can speak with a human. You will then notice straight away how smooth the handover is.
Another tip is to take the questions above and put them to each provider. This gives you a clear basis for your decision.
How Real Talk's AI phone agent works
The agent is added behind your current switchboard. You keep your existing phone system and just add the number we assign to you. You then control yourself which incoming calls go to the agent. It can take care of all calls or just the ones your staff do not have time to answer.
When the customer calls in, the person can describe their issue in their own words. The agent is designed to understand what the caller wants, answers recurring questions and transfers calls according to your rules. It can also retrieve current information or book appointments during the dialogue, once it is connected to your own systems. All data is processed in data centres within the EU.
If the caller asks for personal help, the agent smoothly hands over to your staff. It then sends along a summary of the call so the customer avoids starting from the beginning. To get started, you share existing material with us, and we then build a demo. You then test call and hear whether the answers hold up before we let traffic in.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to replace our existing switchboard?
Ask the provider how the service connects to the telephony you have. For Real Talk's AI phone agent, you keep your existing phone system and add a phone number in the switchboard.
How do we try the service before we decide?
Find out if you get to test call a working agent before you pay. At Real Talk, you submit your existing material, and we then build a demo. You then test the agent by calling in yourselves to hear how it answers.
How is the response time for the AI phone agent measured?
Ask the provider to explain how quickly the agent answers when you call from a Swedish line. You measure this by calling from a Swedish number several times and timing the gap from when you stop speaking until the agent starts to answer. Real Talk writes about its response time on its blog.
What determines the monthly cost?
Investigate if the price is based on a fixed package, the number of calls, or the time spent on the phone. Also ask if there are additional costs to get started. You can find Real Talk's prices on the pricing page.
